Stainless steel storage tanks can withstand very high pressures and are suitable for numerous high-pressure applications.
1. Indirect heating by steam or hot water: Steam or hot water is passed through a tubular heater inside the storage tank or through the heating jacket of a tanker truck to heat the stored gas product.
2. Thermal‑storage gas circulation heating method: A portion of the stored gas is continuously withdrawn from the storage vessel, heated, and then returned to the vessel to mix with the cold stored gas. Mechanical stirring ensures rapid heat transfer. Stainless steel storage tanks can withstand very high pressures, making them suitable for numerous high-pressure applications.
3. Electric heating methods: There are three types—resistive heating, induction heating, and infrared heating. The infrared heating method features simple equipment, high thermal efficiency, and ease of use, making it suitable for heating vessels and tank trucks.
4. Hot-water cushion heating method: Heat is transferred to the gas storage unit via a hot-water cushion located beneath it. The design of the pressurized water‑flow vessel prevents sediment from settling at the bottom of the tank, thereby enhancing the performance of both domestic and fire‑fighting water systems. Hot water is continuously replenished while cooled cold water is discharged, maintaining the temperature of the hot-water cushion. Steam can also be used to supply additional heat. This method is employed when a convenient source of hot water is available.
5. Direct Steam Heating Method: Saturated steam (commonly referred to as steam) is directly introduced into the heated cylinder. Stainless steel storage tanks do not require frequent cleaning; only the drain valve at the bottom of the tank needs to be opened periodically to discharge sediment accumulated in the water. The equipment is simple, requiring cleaning only once every three years, which significantly reduces maintenance costs. This method is easy to operate and offers high thermal efficiency; however, condensate may affect the quality of the stored gas, making it suitable for applications where moisture content requirements are relatively low, such as natural gas storage and agricultural diesel storage.
